Describe the enhancement and the motivation for it.
The file index has nice visual indicators, but it is not immediately obvious what they mean. The docs do a decent job of explaining what they mean; however, it would be useful to have tool tips to summarize the icons on the left, such as "New file", "16 new lines added", "10 lines changed, 3 lines removed", "File removed", etc.
What operating system are you using? What browser?
